Science is for everyone. The Participatory Science Center is a hub for inclusive, community-engaged research and participatory science where universities and the public collaborate to address the grand challenges of our time, including but not limited to climate change, water and air quality, biodiversity, and sustainable agriculture. 

Our Mission 

The mission of the Participatory Science Center is to democratize science by empowering all members of society to contribute to meaningful research and drive real-world impact.  

What We Do 

• • Support the Spectrum of Participatory Science Research: We provide tools such as the CitSci platform and mobile apps and provide training and consulting for participatory science projects across the globe. 
  • Develop the Participatory Science Alliance: We are building a community of practice for participatory science researchers, staff, students at CSU, and community partners to integrate participatory science into CSU’s academic culture. 
  • Advance Scholarship: CSU ranks among the top institutions globally for citizen science research. We study the science of participatory science to address local to global challenges with the best available science.
